OPEN POSITIONS:

CHOCOLATIER: ($17-$19/hr): Learn the art of candy making!  Individuals seeking this position must be detail-oriented, able to stand for an 8-hour shift, able to lift up to 25 pounds, have no known food allergies and be at least 18 years of age.  You will receive on-site training to make hand-dipped chocolates as well as work with a chocolate enrobing machine.  This position is seasonal, full-time Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm.  

TAFFY MACHINE OPERATOR ($18-$20/hr) / TAFFY HOOK OPERATOR ($18-$20/hr): Join our Taffy Team!  This job requires being able to work on your feet for an 8-hour shift, repeatedly lifting 60 pounds and being at least 18 years of age.  Individuals will be responsible for preparing and weighing ingredients for saltwater taffy batches, following recipes consistently, working with various manufacturing equipment to pull and wrap taffy, and communicating with management any issues that may affect product consistency or quality.  This position is seasonal, full-time Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm.  

TAFFY PACKAGING ASSOCIATE ($17/hr): Join our Taffy Team!  This job requires being able to work on your feet for an 8-hour shift as part of a team on an active production line. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and be at least 18 years of age. This position is seasonal, full-time Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm.  

SHIPPING: DELIVERY DRIVER ($17-$19/hr) / DELIVERY ASSISTANT ($16-$18/hr): Delivery drivers and delivery assistants pick, process, load and unload bulk candy orders from our manufacturing facility in Ocean City, MD and deliver them to all 19 retail stores located throughout Ocean City and the Delaware Beaches.  Individuals are required to load and unload a box truck, which includes repetitive lifting and maneuvering of up to 50 pounds as well as operating a hand truck.  Delivery drivers MUST have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record and be able to pass a DOT Physical.  Must be at least 18 years of age; these positions are seasonal, full-time.  The expected work hours are Monday through Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm. 

MERCHANDISER ($17-$19/hr) / MERCHANDISING ASSISTANT ($16-$18/hr): Merchandising involves making each store inviting and shoppable by keeping toy and novelty merchandise fully stocked and organized.  Individuals are expected to pick, process, load and unload toys, novelties, and other merchandise and be able to stand on your feet, bend, and repetitively lift at least 30 pounds.  Products are moved from a centralized warehouse, in and out of a commercial van, then delivered to each retail store.  Responsibilities include replenishment of merchandise sold daily, processing and pricing new merchandise and assisting with new displays.  MUST have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and ability to drive a commercial van and be at least 18 years of age.  The expected work hours are Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm.  Overtime may be available on an as-needed basis.

E-COMMERCE & CUSTOM PACKAGING ASSOCIATE ($16-$18/hr): Individuals will process and package e-commerce and phone orders to be shipped via USPS and UPS.  Additional responsibilities include large scale packaging of gift chocolates and other products to be sold by our retail stores.  Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.  Strong attention to detail is required.  Must be able to stand for an 8-hour shift, lift at least 30 pounds, have no known food allergies and be at least 18 years of age.  Basic computer skills are a must.  This is a full-time year-round position, Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm.

OFFICE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSOCIATE ($17-$19/hr):  This individual will greet visitors and staff to ascertain their needs and direct them to appropriate personnel; answer telephones, screen incoming calls, forwarding calls when necessary, taking messages when calls cannot be completed; distributing keys in key safe and maintaining key sign out documents and logs; assist applicants with application process; make daily route to bank and post office as necessary; sort and distribute incoming mail; assist the payroll department with weekly payroll processing; provide administrative support to all office staff; manage office supplies to always maintain an adequate level; maintain office files efficiently; maintain confidentiality and respectability of all things pertaining to the company. MUST be proficient in Microsoft Office (including WORD and EXCEL).  MUST have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and be at least 18 years of age.  This is a full-time year-round position, Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm. Overtime may be available on an as-needed basis.

RETAIL TEAM MEMBER ($16/hr) / SHIFT LEADER ($16.50-$17/hr) / MANAGER ($18-$20/hr): The Sweetest Place at the Beach wants you to join the retail team!  Candidates must be available to work days, nights, weekends and certain holidays in a fast-paced, fun and family-friendly retail environment.  Individuals will be responsible for providing top-tier customer service and a quality shopping experience to our patrons.  Must be able to stand for an 8-hour shift, lift 25 pounds, and have no known food allergies. Job duties will also include food preparation, restocking and product replenishment, cleaning and cash handling.  Food service industry or retail experience a plus but not required.  Full-time, part-time, seasonal and year-round positions are available.

Benefits:

Overtime – Hourly employees earn a pay rate of 1 ½ times their hourly rate for all hours worked over 40 hours per week.

Bonuses – Bonuses are discretionary, based on job performance and merit, and paid annually in November.

Health Insurance – As per the Affordable Care Act, all employees working 1,560 hours or more annually are eligible to enroll in a company medical plan provided by AETNA.  A Health Savings Account is voluntary for any enrolled health plan participant.

Retirement – As per the Secure 2.0 Act, all employees working 500 hours or more annually in 2 consecutive years are eligible to enroll in the Company’s safe harbor 401K plan. Enrollment periods are January and July.  The Company offers a 4% employer match, fully vested through Fidelity Net Benefits.

Leave pay – Employees working 1,820 hours or more annually are eligible for PTO (Paid Time Off).  Maryland employees over the age of 18 working less than 1,820 hours are eligible for MD Sick & Safe Leave accrued at a rate of 1 hour leave for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 40 hours per year.
